1. Finding your place, made simple
Unihomes is an online platform that helps students, trainees and people moving from abroad find mid-term accommodation in the city. Over the past 10 years we’ve housed more than 3,500 exchange students and trainees, and every year more than 300 people trust us with their stay. We don’t just hand you keys either: we also take care of the reception and admin side, so you’re never left figuring things out alone.
Every apartment on our platform is handpicked, one by one, by our team. We have clear standards a place has to meet before it makes the list (proper furnishing, equipment and appliances included), and we never add anything we haven’t inspected in person. So what you see really is what you get.
Your monthly rent covers everything: water, electricity, internet, heating, shared building costs, all of it. No surprise bills, no extra stress. All you have to do is browse the listings and pick the apartment that fits you best. After 10 years of doing this, we know how to keep it easy.
2. Who we are?
2.1 Our story
We’re a group of people with big ideas and a lot of energy, and every one of us has lived the student experience somewhere in Europe. We know exactly what that once-in-a-lifetime semester abroad feels like, and we also know its biggest headache: on top of learning the language and settling into a new culture, there’s almost never a proper system for finding short-term housing. So we started a volunteer group with one goal, matching incoming students with places to live.
2.2 People
The idea really came to life when we put our energy into something we believed in: making sure every student gets to enjoy their time abroad the way we did. None of us could have pulled it off alone, so we built a team, each of us looking after a different piece of the puzzle.
3. Our System
Through the years, we have elaborated a system that is:
- Trustworthy: We check apartment owners and how they treat their tenants, from rent to returning your deposit at the end of your stay. Every apartment has reviews, so you can read what previous tenants honestly thought before you commit.
- Always there: We’ve got you from the day you arrive (honestly, even before that) right up to your last day. We want your move-in to be as smooth as possible, and we stay reachable the whole time, like a friend who has your back if something comes up.
- Unique: We don’t just find you somewhere to live. We also put together custom city tours and connect you with other international students and expats, so you can explore Thessaloniki like a local and become part of its huge international community.
Safe and transparent: We provide proper legal rental contracts and payment invoices, so you know your rights and responsibilities from day one and feel fully protected the whole way through.
